A Fehérje Az Kell!
Mára már rengeteg tudományos kutatás igazolja, hogy az eddigi "hivatalos" ajánlásnál – ami testsúlykilogrammonként napi 0,8 g fehérje elfogyasztását javasolja – lényegesen több fehérjére van szüksége az emberi szervezetnek. Ez igaz akkor is, hogy ha valaki "csak" egészséges szeretne maradni, hiszen a fehérje rengeteg biológiai folyamathoz szükséges az emberi szervezetben, ugyanakkor fokozottan igaz az aktív életmődot folytatókra, a sportolókra, az izmosodni vagy foéppen fogyni vágyókra, illetve az idősebb korosztályra is, hiszen ezek a csoportok – más-más okokból kifolyólag –még nagyobb fehérjebevitelre van szükségük.

Erő, Teljesítmény & Regeneráció
Az L-Citrullinról azt is kimutatták, hogy képes növelni az erőszintet [2], kitolni a maximum terhelést (értsd: nagyobb súlyokkal tudsz dolgozni vagy több ismétlést tudsz csinálni) [3], javítani az állóképességet [4], és csökkenteni a fáradtságérzetet [5]. A megnövekedett véráramlásnak köszönhetően gyorsítja a regenerációt – mind az egyes körök között, mind pedig edzés után – így csökkentve az izomfájdalmat és az izomlázat [6].
L-Citrullin Vagy L-Arginin?
Rengeteg más étrendkiegészítőben L-Arginin (vagy annak valamelyik formája) található hasonló "bedurrantó" és/vagy teljesítményfokozó hatást tulajdonítva a terméknek. Érvelésük szerint – már ahol egyáltalán érvelnek – az L-Citrullint a szervezetünk L-Argininné alakítja [7], így akár logikus is lehetne egyből L-Arginint szedni edzés előtt.
Míg abban igazuk van, hogy a szervezetünk valóban L-Argininné alakítja az L-Citrullint, rengeteg kutatás támasztja alá, hogy összességében az L-Citrullinnak sokkal jobb a felszívódása [8], lényegesen nagyobb mértékben és nagyobb megbízhatósággal tudja növelni az NO-szintünket [9], ráadásul az L-Arginin nagyobb dózisokban emésztőrendszeri panaszokat is okozhat [10] – ezt meg nyilván semmiképpen sem akarjuk egy edzés előtt! Így tehát az L-Citrullin összehasonlíthatatlanul jobb választásnak bizonyul edzés előtt, mint az L-Arginin bármely formája.
L-Citrullin Vagy Citrullin-Malát?
Rengeteg edzés-előtti termékben népszerű összetevő a citrullin-malát, ami általában L-Citrullin por és almasav por valamilyen arányú keveréke. Bár valószínűsíthető, hogy az almasavnak önállóan is vannak olyan mérsékelt élettani hatásai, amelyek az edzésre bizonyos mértékben jótékony hatással lehetnek [11], a baj ezekkel a termékekkel az az, hogy a hozzáadott almasav miatt csökkentik az L-Citrullin dózist. Például, 6 gram 1:1 arányú citrullin-malátban csak 3 gram L-Citrullin van, de még ha a drágább – 2:1 arányú – verziót nézzük, 6 gram 2:1 citrullin-malátban is csak 4 gram L-Citrullin található. (Arról nem is beszélve, hogy kevés olyan termék kapható, amiben akár csak 6 gram citrullin-malát található).
Tekintve, hogy irreálisan nagy dózisokra lenne szükség citrullin-malátból a megfelelő L-Citrullin adag beviteléhez, lényegesen rontaná a termék ízét, ráadásul almasavat bőven be tudunk vinni egy egészséges étrenddel is [12] (míg L-Citrullint már nem olyan egyszerű), így mi gondolkodás nélkül a tiszta L-Citrullinra szavazunk!

Maximális teljesítmény, gyorsabb fejlődés
A Béta-Alanin egy olyan aminosav, amely többek között az izmaink karnozin-szintjét szabályozza, ami pedig az izmaink pH-ját (értsd: savasságát) szabályozza [1]. Amikor egy izmot terhelés ér – például edzés közben – akkor fokozatosan egyre savasabbá válik (ez korrelál az izomban keletkező tejsavval), ami pedig cserébe egyre inkább rontja az izom teljesítményét, egészen addig, amíg az izom "kiég", és nem képes több teljesítményt leadni pihenés nélkül [2].
Ezt a hatást csökkenti és késlelteti a karnozin [3], a Béta-Alanin pedig képes jelentősen növelni az izmok karnozin-szintjét [4]. Így a Béta-Alanin hozzájárul ahhoz, hogy az izmaid később fáradjanak el az edzéseid során [5]. A Béta-Alaninnak ez a teljesítményfokozó hatása igaz érvényes az erő-edzésekre is (pl. konditermes edzések, crossfit, súlyemelés) [6] és a kardió edzésekre (pl. futás, biciklizés, evezés) is egyaránt [7].
Nagyobb izomtömeg, kevesebb testzsír – ráadásul gyorsabban
Mivel a Béta-Alanin hozzájárul ahhoz, hogy nagyobb teljesítményt tudj leadni egy edzés alatt (pl. plusz 1-2 ismétlést tudj csinálni körönként), így hozzájárul a keményebb edzésekhez – ami pedig gyorsabb izmosodáshoz és összességében nagyobb izomtömeghez vezethet [8]. Szintén a megnövekedett teherbírásból fakadó keményebb edzéseknek köszönhetően a Béta-Alanin hozzájárul ahhoz, hogy edzésenként több kalóriát égess, így támogatva a gyorsabb fogyást is [9].
Optimális Dózisok
Az általunk ígért hatások eléréséhez a tudományos kutatások 2-5 gram Béta-Alanint állapítottak meg hatásos dózisnak. Ezen a tartományon belül a nagyobb dózisokkal erőteljesebb hatást értek el, azonban nem fontos, hogy a teljes napi dózist közvetlenül edzés előtt vigyük be [10].
Magasabb dózisokban a Béta-Alaninnak van egy teljesen ártalmatlan mellékhatása: a fogyasztó apró tűszúrásokhoz hasonló enyhe bizsergést érez a bőrén (egyesek szerint ez kellemes/motiváló, míg mások szerint ez egy kicsit kellemetlen). Ha Te is ilyet tapasztalsz a termékünk fogyasztása után, aggodalomra semmi ok – ez a hatás teljesen ártalmatlan, és maximum 1-2 órán belül teljesen elmúlik [11].

A laktáz enzim egy olyan emésztő-enzim, amely a tejcukor – másnéven a laktóz – lebontásáért felelős. A laktóz számos tejtermékben megtalálható, így például a tejben, sajtokban, túróban, különböző joghurtokban, csakúgy mint sok feldolgozott élelmiszerben, mint a csokoládékban, egyes szószokban, és a tej-alapú fehérjekészítmények nagy részében is. Bár az emberek egy része felnőttkorban is gond nélkül le tudja bontani a laktózt, tudományos becslések szerint a Föld népességének mintegy 65%-a erre csak részlegesen – vagy egyáltalán nem – képes. Ezekben az egyénekben a laktóz-tartalmú ételek fogyasztása emésztőrendszeri panaszokkal (pl. puffadás, hasmenés, rossz tápanyag-felszívódás), illetve ebből fakadóan rossz közérzettel fáradékonysággal, és lecsökkent teljesítőképességgel jár. Ez a laktóz-érzékenység az egyik fő oka annak, hogy sok sportoló szervezete nem bírja a tej-alapú fehérje-készítményeket.
Bár sokan a laktózérzékenységnek csak egy “enyhébb” változatában szenvednek (vagyis részlegesen azért valamennyire képesek lebontani a laktózt), így az ebből fakadó tüneteket enyhébben vagy kevésbé egyértelműen tapasztalják, de még számukra is előnyösebb a laktózmentes diéta folytatása. A laktáz-enzim ebben nyújt segítséget: az emészőrendszerben lebontja az elfogyasztott laktózt, így az alapból laktóz-tartalmú élelmiszereket (mint például a tej-alapú fehérjéket) laktózmentessé teszi, ezzel biztosítva a panasz nélküli fogyaszthatóságukat.

Az L-Leucin egy esszenciális aminosav – és edzés szempontjából a legfontosabb aminosav a BCAA-csoportból (olyannyira, hogy bizonyos kutatások arra a következtetésre jutottak, hogy edzés szempontjából lényegesen hatékonyabb tiszta L-Leucint szedni, mint egy kombinált BCAA kiegészítőt) [1].
Az L-Leucin beindítja és felerősíti az anabolikus folyamatokat, vagyis az izmokban a fehérje-szintézist (tehát az izom-építést) [2] – sőt, a kutatások alapján talán az L-Lecuin a legfontosabb aminosav az izomzatban történő fehérje-szintézis aktiválása szempontjából [3].
Ezen felül az L-Leucin gátolja is a katabolikus folyamatokat [4] – vagyis az izmok leépülését. Ez a veszély különösen fehérje-szegény étrend, szálkásítás vagy fogyókúra, bizonyos betegségek, idősebb életkor, vagy éhgyomorra történő edzés esetén áll fenn [5] – így ezekben az esetekben az L-Leucinnak kulcsfontosságú lehet ez az "izom-megőrző" hatása.
Optimális Dózisok
Az anabolikus és antikatabolikus hatások eléréséhez a tudományos szakirodalom napi 2 és 5 gram közötti L-Leucin bevitelt ajánl, azonban nem fontos, hogy a teljes dózis bevitele edzés előtt történjen. Ezzel együtt is határozott előnyei vannak annak, ha ennek a napi dózisnak egy jelentősebb részét közvetlenül edzés előtt fogyasztjuk el [6].

Az L-Tirozin egy aminosav amit a szervezet többek között különböző neurotranszmitterek [1] – pl. dopamin és adrenalin – illetve a pajzsmirigyhormonok [2] termeléséhez használ fel. Mivel ezek az anyagok a szervezetben optimális esetben egyensúlyban vannak, így annak ellenére is, hogy a plusz L-Tirozin bevitel nem befolyásolja lényegesen a termelődésüket, egyes kutatások szerint megnövekedett L-Tirozin bevitel lassítja a lebomlásukat és/vagy kiürülésüket [3].
Az L-Tirozin legfontosabb hatása azonban a koncentráció és a fókusz javítása – különösen fizikailag (pl. edzés) vagy mentálisan (pl. vizsga) stresszes körülmények között. Tudományos kutatások igazolják, hogy L-Tirozin fogyasztása magas fizikai stresszel járó szituációk előtt javítja a memóriát [4], növeli a fókuszt [5], csökkenti a stresszt [6], és enyhén javítja a kedélyállapotot is [7].
A megnövekedett fókusz és mentális stressztűrő képesség pedig hozzájárul ahhoz, hogy az edzéseid legvégéig fenn tudd tartani a koncentrációdat és a motivációdat, így nehezebben fogsz "mentálisan elfáradni" az edzéseid végére.

A sportolók tehát különösen ki lehetnek téve a Kolin-hiány kockázatának, ami pedig számos tünetet okozhat, például: májkárosodáshoz [2], lecsökkent fizikai teljesítőképességet [3], és mentális fáradékonyságot és/vagy alacsonyabb kognitív teljesítményt [4]. Edzés-előtti megfelelő Kolin-bevitellel azonban a hosszú/kemény edzés hatására potenciálisan jelentkező Kolin-hiány és az ebből fakadó tünetek kivédhetőek.
A Kolin továbbá hozzájárulhat a zsírégetéshez – így támogatva a sikeres fogyókúrát (feltehetően – legalábbis részben – a mitokondriális-funkciók javítása révén) [5], illetve bizonyos kutatások összefüggést találtak a magasabb edzés-előtti Kolin-bevitel és a jobb fizikai teljesítmény között [6], azonban ezek valószínűsíthetően a Kolin-hiány kivédéséből fakadó hatások, és nem pedig önmagában a megnövekedett Kolin-szintből adódik.
A bevitt Kolin egy része a szervezetben egy neurotranszmitterré – acetilkolinná – alakul [7], ezzel is támogatva a kognitív funkciókat, a koncentrációt, és a mentális teljesítményt [8]. Ez pedig hozzájárulhat ahhoz, hogy edzés közben "tiszta fejjel" végig frissek és fókuszáltak tudjunk maradni.
Optimális Dózisok
Mivel egy kiegyensúlyozott étrend megfelelő mennyiségű Kolinnal látja el a szervezetünket, ezért edzés-előtti támogatáshoz tipikusan 50 mg és 500 mg közötti dózisok használatosak. Javítja az aerob [5] és az anaerob [6] sportteljesítményt és kitartást is, így akár rövid időtartamú magas intenzitású edzésről van szó (pl. sprintelés), akár hosszabb időtartamú egyenletes kardió edzésről, a Koffein csökkenti a fáradtságot, növeli a kitartást, és növeli a maximális teljesítményt is [7].
Emellett a Koffein szignifikánsan növeli a pillanatnyi erőszintet is, így Koffein fogyasztása után az izmaink lényegesebb nagyobb erőt tudnak kifejteni és lényegesen később fáradnak el [8]. Így az edzés előtti Koffein fogyasztása hozzájárul ahhoz, hogy minden edzésen – edzés-típustól függetlenül – erősebbek legyünk és jobban teljesítsünk, ami pedig hosszútávon gyorsabb fejlődést eredményezhet.
Fokozott Zsírégetés
A Koffein hatására a szervezetünk több kalóriát éget, így a Koffein hatására átmenetileg felgyorsul a zsírégetés [9]. Ezt a hatását azon felül is képes kifejtetni, hogy a Koffein hatására megnövekedett edzés alatti teljesítmény következtében az edzéssel is több kalóriát égetünk. Az L-Teanin egy aminosav, amiből a szervezet két neurotranszmittert – GABA-t és Glutamátot – állít elő [1]. Így az L-Teaninnek önmagában is jelentős relaxáló hatásai vannak. A Teobromin egy alkaloida, ami strukturálisan nagyon hasonlít a koffeinhez, így a két anyag hatásaiban is felfedezhetünk bizonyos hasonlóságokat [1]. A Teobromin hatására a szervezetünk edzés közben jobban áttér arra, hogy energiaként az izmokban tárolt glikogén helyett a testzsírunkat hasznosítsa [2]. Ennek kettős következménye van: egyrészt az izmaink tovább bírják a terhelést, mivel később fogynak ki az elsődleges energiaforrásukból [3]; másrészt pedig az edzés előtti Teobromin-fogyasztás hozzájárulhat a gyorsabb/hatékonyabb fogyókúrához is, hiszen elősegíti az edzés közbeni zsírégetést [4] – ráadásul ezen felül is növeli a termogenézist (tehát: biológiai hőtermelődést), illetve segíti a zsírmobilizációt is, így különösen hatékony lehet egy megfelelő edzéssel és étrenddel történő fogyókúra támogatásához [5].
Kognitív Teljesítmény
A Teobromin – egyéb kognitív funkciók javítása mellett – segíti továbbá a motorikus képességek tanulását és elraktározását az agyban [6]. Ez azt jelenti, hogy különböző mozdulat-sorozatokat könnyebben megjegyzünk, így például egy-egy új mozgásformát vagy gyakorlat helyes kivitelezését gyorsabban és pontosabban tudunk "rögzíteni" és megtanulni. A koffeinhez hasonlóan a Teobromin is hozzájárulhat az éberséghez és a fáradtság-érzet csökkenéséhez, azonban a koffeinnél kisebb mértékben [7].
